Diane Dwyer

RealtorĀ®

"Diane is the best real estate agent we’ve ever worked with. We couldn’t recommend her more to family and friends" (Michael - Zillow) Thank you, Michael!

I have a unique practice since I work on the Peninsula (where I grew up) as well as the East Bay (where I currently live). This approach provides me direct access to buyers and sellers on both sides of the Bay. As a result, we’ve earned some special recognitions:

  • Top 1% of teams & agents in San Mateo County (2021 MLS)
  • Top 1% of agents in Contra Costa County

How do we do it? Each member of the Patty Dwyer Group has a particular specialty, and we play off our strengths. My background in journalism helped me develop the skills to tell a story about your home through pictures, video, and words. My background in corporate banking allows me to focus on and understand numbers. Ultimately, we are all proud to have built our business on repeat clients and personal referrals.

Here’s what a few clients had to say:

"Diane stands out as a skilled negotiator and is very down to earth. After getting some complicated disclosures, she even crawled under the house into a tiny basement with my husband to check out the foundation. I highly recommend her." (Elena - Zillow)

“We found Diane when we were researching listing agents who broke records in the area, which is exactly what she does, WE GOT THE HIGHEST PRICE PER SQUARE FOOT FOR A MID-SIZED HOUSE IN LAFAYETTE IN 2020.” (Jill - Zillow)

“We were especially impressed with Diane’s honesty. She helped us walk away from a home that would have been a very risky investment for us even though on the surface it ticked all the boxes on our wish list.” (Michelle – Zillow)

My path to real estate is an unusual one but somehow all makes sense. I grew up with six brothers and sisters on the Peninsula, and I love working with my sister, Patty, in real estate. I credit the Irish gift of storytelling and relationship-building with my success in real estate as well as my previous career in broadcast journalism.

As to my background, I received a BS degree in Business Administration from UC Berkeley and spent my early years in corporate banking. In fact, I’m now a member of the faculty at Cal, teaching public relations/communications at the Berkeley-Haas School of Business. I'm also a regular guest lecturer for the Design School at Stanford University.

I spent 20+ working years in broadcast journalism reporting and anchoring for KTVU-Channel 2 as well as NBC Bay Area. I'm honored to be a two-time Emmy Award winner.

Ultimately though, life is about family and community.  Serving as emcee, auctioneer and advisor for numerous non-profits including the Peninsula Hospital Foundation, Summit Bank Foundation in Oakland, Bay Area Council and the DeMarillac Academy in San Francisco, is not only rewarding but also remarkably fun. I also sit on the board of the California Alumni Association and Curry Senior Center of San Francisco.  My other love: pet rescue! I work with groups including the Peninsula Humane Society, the East Bay SPCA, Cat Town of Oakland and German Shepherd Rescue.

From helping non-profits to sharing people's stories, I now love helping people with their homes as part of their life story.
